Simple one or two page websites start at around $200, excluding hosting and domain name registration. (See below for these costs.) The cost depends on the size of your project and what you would like done. Be highly suspect of any developer that gives a quote without finding out what you need! Discuss with Black Swan IT what you would like on your website, then we can sit down and write you a quote.

Yes, we are happy to set up hosting and domain names for you.

Hosting starts from $100 per year, and the vast majority of our customers do not need to pay more than this if they host through Black Swan IT.

We can register all types of domain names. As an example of pricing, registering a .com.au domain name through Black Swan IT costs $50 for 2 years.

Ad hoc changes (made as required) cost $50 per hour with a minimum of $25 per change. Many of our customers prefer to set up a maintenance plan from one of the following choices:

$50 per month for up to 4 changes

$300 per 6 months, unlimited changes

$500 per year, unlimited changes

There several ways to drive traffic to websites and you will fit into one of the categories below:

Advertise. You can send them there yourself by printing your web address on cards, printed literature and advertising material.
Let's face it: your website cannot perform at its best if you are not advertising it! This method is low cost for potentially enormous returns.

Use Paid Placement, such as 'pay per click'. This can work well, but buyer beware! See right for an explanation.

Trust. Leave it up to the search engines to find you.
Risky! Search engines can direct visitors to your website, but putting a site on the web does not guarantee success. Your site needs to show up in the search engine results. Achieving this is done through SEO, or Search Engine Optimisation. Black Swan IT uses SEO to help you improve your sites chances of appearing high in the search results.

Paid Placement
You can use "Paid Placement" such as pay per click, or adwords campaign to insure that you come up on top in the paid placement area on the search engines.
Depending on the popularity of your search terms you will pay anywhere from 1 cent to more than $20 for every visitor you get from the paid placement. One client set up a keyword campaign and was shocked to receive a bill for $2000 the first month. These campaigns can work well, IF set up properly.
